Our laboratory is involved in studies associated with pathogenesis, immunology and effect of substance abuse in macaque model of AIDS. One of the project in the laboratory deals with effect of opiate on disease progression and vaccine-induced immune responses in SHIV/macaque model of AIDS. The second project in lab deals with drug holidays in SHIV-infected macaques and determines whether drug holidays offer any immunoloigcal advantage over continuous anti-retroviral treatment.
